Second year Fine Art student Amelia is still obsessed with birds. This avain focus manifests in her surrealist art, pairing the imagery of the human form with the head of various birds. These hybrid figures heavily feature throughout her collages, prints and paintings with recent development into creating cardboard cut-outs of these hybrid figures. They dominate their spaces, too large to ignore, too unsettling to dismiss. In creating these BirdPeople, Amelia aims to create characters and confront human spaces with the critical and unblinking stare of the unfamiliar.
