I studied art through until A-level before pursuing a career in ecology including a masters at Tremough (Penryn) Campus. I am now a full time Ecologist as well as a part-time artist and photographer squashing in as much art as I can around my job. My love of animals and nature definitely influences my art but is often fused with my love of gothic horror. I love to relax by painting and drawing during evenings and at weekends with my husband Sam Bradbury who is a full-time artist. I use a wide variety of media including collage (as with this piece), watercolour, ink and pastels. I also love to sculpt tiny creatures for example, last month I sculpted the x-files "flukeman" for a music video by f.emasculata, an x-files themed hard-core punk band. I have also recently started immortalising my friends pets in pastel on velour which I absolutely love.

I have dated this piece of work 6th April 2020 because it was the first Monday after the originally lockdown for Covid when it dawned on a lot of people that they wouldn’t be going back to work for a while – much more time to find the book-worm inside us!
