My work surrounds ideas of isolation and the body, in my paintings I display the human condition through the media of acrylic painting. Throughout lockdown my bedroom became my studio, this made me realise the importance of people's bedrooms and how they represent intimate moments in human experience. Through painting the body, I create intimate and honest pieces of work that don’t sexualize the female form, but use it as a tool to reflect the subject's feelings through stature and posing, creating an unconventional connection between the viewer and the subject. My paintings are a reflection of my mind state throughout the pandemic, gaining an insight to the privacy of people's lives, a rare look behind closed doors into the private life of everyday people.
