With a borderline obsessive focus on birds, Amelia produces surrealist art pairing the imagery of the human form with the head of various birds. These hybrid figures haunt the artist, cursing her to paint and print these figures forever. Bird portraits underline her main body of work, consistently staring out of their frames at the onlooker. This is supported by her recent foray into collage where she Frankensteins her hybrid figures using magazines and digital editing before creating woodcut prints or painting them.
