KATIE BOLT

My name is Katie Bolt, a BA Fine Art graduate Printmaker. I work erratically in my garden shed experimenting with ideas. I produce prints from events that inspire me.

I love everything when it comes to printmaking. The best moment though is squeezing out and then smelling the strong oil relief inks and dragging the roller across the ink to make a satisfying sizzling sound. I really enjoy lino printing in the approach to creating an image through layers of colour and lines.

Lockdown has forced me to contemplate where I live and this has flowed into my practice. Falmouth is such a special town, rich with local history. The colours in my prints achieve a positive vibe reflecting the town’s buoyant atmosphere.
