BETH CLAYTON

Currently in her final year of her BA (Hons) Fine Art at Falmouth University, Beth is a practicing artist based in Cornwall who utilizes writing and stop-motion animation to discuss the subjects of climate health and societal collapse.

Her fascination with writing in particular has grown over the past three years, and now she explores the idea of writing as a form of metaphorical rewilding and a process of decolonization. Inspired by Dark Mountain's manifesto, Uncivilized Writing, she seeks to undo the anthropocentric, capitalist and colonialist ideas of domination by infiltrating spaces with "wild" text. She writes with the hope of reclaiming something from the barren plantationocene of non-place which she has discovered the landscape of the "English Countryside" to present.
