Sacha Wace
Footsteps, the pressure in that ground as your weight stays there until you lift your foot up. That foot print stays for years and years connecting you to your carbon footprint. From year to year still there. Throughout my practice I'm exploring the print in the land that you leave behind. From ancestors to decades all the way back to you. The simple shapes the land forms and crumbles as the sea engulfs it. The search for my family's lives and steps they took to build up the land 100s of years ago. Starting in Pencalenick, St Clements and Camborne. Searching through the mines and shafts of Cornwall to figure out where they once were. My my main inspiration for the creation of my work is Harriet Rabb and how she used the soft pastel colours, but also how she makes her canvases pop
