Moment Specific Installation Paintings


Focusing on textures and marks, these paintings are lit from behind to provide a second image within the painting. The underlying themes that link the work are the processes used, that produce a variety of ‘events’, which are filtered through by the various approaches implemented by my work, allowing the viewer to be encompassed in the many events that take place in its production.

The work focuses with the artist to have chance encounters and eliminate the hand, by no longer imposing the self or ego onto the work, The underlying themes that link my work are the processes used, that produce a variety of ‘events’, which are filtered through by the various approaches implemented by my work, allowing the viewer to be encompassed in the many events that take place in its production.The work is concerned with the notion of time and how we perceive it which is a key component to idea of the event. Events address time and space, specifically time as the passage for events within which an infinite sequence of events whose relationships intersect with one and other could be seen to form the fabric of the world. Even though the works may appear to be abstract in nature, this would be completely untrue, because in their nature they are a multitude of events that can only occur in the moment of formation.
