I am very delighted to be a part of the Street View exhibition in Falmouth. Especially in the current time, I appreciate the idea of going out and about and being able to see an art exhibition in person!
The piece I have brought forth is in relation to my Christian faith. There is a verse in the Holy Bible that says 'Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint' Isaiah 40.31. I find this verse very inspiring and I hope it can be inspiring for others. Especially at this time when we may be feeling weary. I've taken the inspiration from verse by painting silhouettes of eagles flying as a visual reminder. The background is made from brown paper bags. With the art I bring forth, I am hoping to make it more eco friendly, reusing materials instead of buying new. I have sewn them together in a patchwork like formation, to represent that our lives are made up of patches of differnt life events that we have individually experienced (positive and negative) that make us who we are. It's imperfect, slightly crumpled and torn, but God loves us no matter who we are or what we've done. I chose to sew it together with red thread- choosing the colour red to reprent Jesus' blood that he shed dying on the cross to save our lives.
Lots of love, Hannah x
