KATIE RIESNER

Driven by an enduring interest in the natural world, Katie Riesner is an experimental photographer who explores abstraction and the often-overlooked aspects of our world, with close attention to detail.

Within this exhibition are works from the photo series A Journey Within, 2018 and A Fracture of Reality, 2019. These projects came about as a direct response to Riesner’s ill mental health. Trapped in her room, she sought to get out and create as a means of recognising the beauty in our world and processing her emotions; a form of self-expression that began through vernacular means, shooting relentlessly and upon instinct.
