KIT WINCHESTER

Kit Winchester is a Cornish born artist currently living in Bristol. His work is casualist and incidental, and his paintings are usually made horizontally laid flat on the floor. He is interested in the formal and textural qualities of both oil and spray paint, as well as the unexpected outcomes of their application. In his work, he combines paint with different materials including fabric and metallic tape; as a way of exploring surface, space and colour. Although primarily abstract, his paintings often contain hidden symbols, faces, bodies and biomorphic shapes.
